Download Case Study (PDF)The Challenge
As part of a long-term business improvement strategy, Foyle Port Undertook a management review to identify areas within the organisation where performance and efficiency could be improved. They recognized that:
OWNERSHIP
There was no single, easily accessible list of assets owned and operated by the Port
TIME CONSUMING PROCESSES
The manual recording and scheduling of maintenance was quickly becoming outdated
LACK OF PRIORITY
There was a lack of focus to complete tasks in the allocated time based on priorities
VISIBILITY
Senior managers had no way of simply checking the status of tasks taking place
ACCESSIBILITY
Important documents were not easily accessible by managers and engineers
OWNERSHIP
No system was in place to automatically notify when asset related activities such as inspections or PPM’s were due
The Solution
IEB Software worked closely with Foyle Port to create a system that was tailored to their specific requirements. The system implemented enabled the port to enable:
JOINED UP WORKING
Connect the workforce centrally with automated communication and electronic notifications
CENTRALISED SYSTEM
Add, store, manage and view details of all assets from one central system
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES
Set up maintenance schedules with a list of tasks to be carried out
A BIRDS EYE VIEW
Monitor and review all maintenance carried out on every asset & quickly view certificates that need renewed
REMOTE ACCESS
Access the database from anywhere in the world through integration with the ports own off-site remote access portal
MOBILE APP
Operators have access to the information they need from the AssetHQ App on their mobile devices, reducing the need for paper records & phone calls
Why AssetHQ?
IEB offered a leading solution to the design and development of software which could be integrated with our own server systems. The adoption of the AssetHQ has led to a transformation in the procedures of Foyle Port (LPHC).
Centralisation of the asset management operations means that all assets from each department can be found in one location. Training of employees on separate asset maintenance software is now no longer necessary thus reducing company expenditure.
Maintenance efficiency has improved in terms of time management, one example being that it has led to the basic maintenance scheduling being taken from the workload of the engineers
